چکیده

We produce carrier-envelope-phase-stable 15.7-fs (2-cycle) 740μJ pulses at the 2.1-μm carrier wavelength, from a three-stage optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier system, pumped by an optically synchronized 49-ps 11-mJ Nd:YLF laser. A novel seed pulse spectral shaping method is used to ascertain the true amplified seed energy and the parametric superfluorescence levels. ©2008 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (140.4480) Optical amplifiers; (320.7090) Ultrafast lasers References and links 1. High harmonic generation with long-wavelength few-cycle laser pulses

We report the extension of hollow-core fibre pulse compression to longer wavelengths. High-energy multi-cycle infrared pulses are generated via optical parametric amplification and subsequently broadened in the fibre. 2.5-cycle pulses at the Signal wavelength (1.4 μm) and 1.6-cycle pulses at the Idler wavelength (1.8 μm) in the sub-millijoule regime have been generated. New compression schemes ...

Narrowband carrier-envelope phase stable mid-infrared pulses at wavelengths beyond 10  μm by chirped-pulse difference frequency generation.

We report on the generation of narrowband carrier-envelope phase stable mid-infrared (MIR) pulses between 10 and 15 μm. High pulse energies and narrow bandwidths are required for the selective nonlinear excitation of collective modes of matter that is not possible with current sources. We demonstrate bandwidths of <2% at 12.5 μm wavelength through difference frequency generation between two nea...

Generation of broadband 17-μJ mid-infrared femtosecond pulses at 3.75 μm by silicon carbide crystal.

In this contribution, we report the generation of 17-μJ mid-infrared (MIR) pulses with duration of 70 fs and bandwidth of 550 nm centered at 3.75 μm at 1-kHz repetition rate, by a two-stage femtosecond optical parametric amplifier utilizing 4H-silicon carbide crystal as the nonlinear medium. The crystal is selected as it processes orders of magnitude higher damage threshold than traditional MIR...

Development of Optical Parametric Chirped-Pulse Amplifiers and Their Applications

In this work, optical pulse amplification by parametric chirped-pulse amplification (OPCPA) has been applied to the generation of high-energy, few-cycle optical pulses in the near-infrared (NIR) and infrared (IR) spectral regions. Amplification of such pulses is ordinarily difficult to achieve by existing techniques of pulse amplification based on standard laser gain media followed by external ...

High-efficiency optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier in BiB₃O₆ for generation of 3 mJ, two-cycle, carrier-envelope-phase-stable pulses at 1.7 μm.

We produce a 3 mJ, two-cycle (11.4 fs), 1 kHz, carrier-envelope phase (CEP)-stable laser source at 1.7 μm via a three-stage Ti:sapphire-pumped optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier in BiB3O6. We achieve a pump-to-signal conversion efficiency of 18% in the last stage, which is, to the best of our knowledge, the highest yet achieved for near-octave bandwidth amplification. A f-to-2f measurem...
